How Does Camera Drain Inspection Work?
We use high-end waterproof cameras to inspect sewer
lines and other pipes that would otherwise be difficult to reach. For instance, using older methods, we would
have to dig into the ground or get underneath a home’s foundation to identify where the blockage in the pipes
was. This process was painstaking and could take hours to complete. As you can imagine, it was also quite
costly.
All of these problems were solved when we were able to simply insert a camera into the drain opening and run it
down the pipe until we found the problem. We stick a flexible rod with a high-resolution video camera on the tip
into the pipe. The rod is small enough to fit into a pipe that is just 2 inches in diameter. The flexible rod
can wind its way through any plumbing system - even at 90-degree angles. We can view the footage on a monitor. A
high-resolution camera gives us clear, distinct images so that we can diagnose the problem with 100% accuracy.
We can save the video or create an image to refer to once we begin cleaning the pipes out.
